Destiny Church was birth in the hearts and minds of four individuals who dared to believe that God could use them to change the world.  It was a divine connection for Paul and Delia Russell to meet up with Charles and Tiffany White.  Charles who had recently finished at the Potter's House School of Ministry in Dallas, TX moved he and his lovely wife back to Houston, TX with hopes of one day starting a ministry.  They were introduced to the Russell's who have played an intricate part in helping starter churches reach their fullest potentials. The Russell's immediately recognized the call and the anointing on Charles and Tiffany's life and asked them the question "Are you ready to Pastor God's Church?" Charles and Tiffany humbly yet excitingly accepted the call on their life to lead God's People.

Pastor Paul Russell gave them the assignment of praying to God for a name for the church.  Charles and Tiffany had always dreamed of naming their church "Bethel" and when they brought the name to Pastor Paul, he replied "Bethel is a great name but not for you.  You guys go back and pray and ask God to show you who you are and what you will bring to the lives of the people he sends to you."  Charles and Tiffany went and prayed and as they began to look over there lives and see all the ministry they had been involved in concerning people, they realized they were always trying to help people reach their fullest potential and show them what their future in God could be. Charles would always tell Tiffany " I think God has called us to be the magnifying glass in people lives, to show them the BIG PICTURE of where they are going...and not where they are."  While being reminded of all of this, Destiny Church was born.

Pastors Charles and Tiffany were very creative with ideas to spread the news about Destiny Church.  They held several interest meeting in their home to people who had express interest in helping to start the ministry.  From the interest meetings a core group was formed of about 20 people. The date was set for Destiny's first service. Three months leading up to the first service, the core group held several meet and greets in the community to let people know about the new church that is coming into their area.  They held free barbeque's in the park as well as gave out free hotdogs and cotton candy at some of the areas local businesses.  The news spread near and far about the upcoming Destiny Church.  On April 15, 2007 in Pearland, TX, Destiny held their first service with over 300 family, friends and people of the community in attendance at Rogers Middle School!

The first year of Destiny Church proved that God was with the ministry in every step.  There were ups and downs, but overall the church grew in so many areas.  The children's ministry was the biggest ministry of Destiny with about 45- 50 kids per Sunday. Everyone who joined the ministry found a place to fit in because there was so much work to do.  With Destiny being a portable church meeting in a middle school.  Every Friday members would come and set up the church with speakers, microphones, instruments, banners, children ministry stuff and all sorts of others things and on Sunday the church would have to break it all down and return everything to storage only to have to set up again week after week. Destiny Church celebrated their one year anniversary April 27, 2008 with a huge three day celebration. 

In December of 2008, Destiny has had the priviledge of expanding our borders to Sugarland, TX and lease a church building!  This new move will not only help us to grow but will help us to become focused on improving the ministry within Destiny. We thank God for where we have been but we are excited and ready for where we are going!

We believe the only way to build a strong, powerful long-lasting church is to build strong, powerful, long-lasting families! Children, Teens and Single Adults have a major part in Destiny Church! We believe that all children and teens, are our FUTURE and we believe in investing into our future!
